Peace. What is it and why do we need it? Wikipedia defines peace as such. Peace is the concept of harmonious well-being and freedom from hostile aggression. My well-being is important to me because ultimately, it along with other very important components, shape my quality of life. If I had to define peace, I think I’d say it is a personal alignment that promotes a calming of the soul. How would you define it?
How important is finding your peace to you? For me, it is just as vital as each chamber in my heart. I am at a place in my life where peace is no longer optional. It is not one of those “things” that I can take or leave. It is a MUST HAVE. As I have come to this realization, I have began exploring different ways to not only find peace, but to also keep peace. I understand how interconnected my senses are to the finding AND keeping of my peace, so I am on a mission to tap into them as I design my surroundings. By surroundings, I mean the people that I allow inside my space, the places I allow myself to go and all the way down to the thoughts that I allow myself to entertain. There are levels to this shit. lol Seriously. In order to attain the peace that I so desire, it’s important that I visit these different areas and look to see how (or if) they align with my senses. What better way to assess this than the 5 W’s?
What do I like to see? Feel? Hear? Taste? Smell? What makes me happy? Where do I go and feel the happiest? When was I my most productive? Happy? Where was I? Who was I with? When do I feel the most alive? What sounds do I enjoy? What brings a smile to my face? Where do I feel free to be me? Why do I feel this way around this person? What is it that I eat that leaves me feeling bloated? (lol yep, ask ALLLL the questions)
Sure these seem like some really basic questions and truthfully they are, so I guess we need to get back to the basics. It’s truly all in the small things. They turn into bigger things. So go ahead! Ask the questions, answer them (truthfully) and move in the direction of that truth. Sometimes you will find the answer to be that you need to add something(s) to your life. On the other side of the coin, you may determine that you need to rid yourself of something(s). Perhaps, you will find that its more about finding a certain balance. Whatever your conclusion (in the words of the beautiful angel Kyrzayda Rodriguez) Go! Do it now!
